In my research so far I have come to the conclusion that the mother complex is more simply stated as child psychology or child behaviour. Which is behaviour grouped towards dependency on a parent figure. This is prevalent today in adult males being dependent on social welfare, drug dependency, possibly even their parents still. Furthering to this the mother complex serves a survival purpose in success of children reproducing in that adult behaviour in a child is less likely to provide survival, given the following observations. A child is unlikely to provide food and protection for the other members given it's physicality, it is also unable to reproduce, irresponsibility is a form of trial and error and furthers learning. Even if a human child were to enter the adult world given adult behaviour it would be unlikely to survive given it's lack of experiences and so forth.So a mother complex is beneficial to infants in that they show dependency on their more capable adults, also ensuring they don't leave the group, and possibly the repression or disapproval of independent inclinations. But what if this behaviour were continued into adulthood, especially males as female adulthood is bodily and proceeds the first menstruation, let's look at an animal organism to provide a more basic condensed approach.The animal continues it's mother complex into adulthood, will depend on the group for sustenance, or until it's parents die. Would show signs of laziness, unwilling to work, expects others to provide for it, would be an incapable parent, increased selfishness, unwilling to face problems or uncapable of facing conflict, an inbuilt tendency for failure, group interaction would be towards manipulating the providers to continue care of organism, through guilt, tantrums, flattery, sulking etc. In effect the organism would be of no use to the group, but would threaten it's survival, in that the strongest members would be forced to take care of them, like a host to a virus. Although the virus here is merely a behaviour pattern.A list of Mother complex elements -> Goal is continued dependency at the organisms risk.Tantrums -> The use of anger to get sustenance, being food-love-shelter-money-whatever. Sulking -> Withholding of affection as a manipulative guilt technique. Self-Defeat -> Ensures continued dependency. Flattery -> An emotional manipulation to be used with sulking. Run to Mommy -> When problems arise let the capable adults deal with it. Laziness -> Working might provide independence which threatens the complex. Irresponsibility -> The parents can deal with the consequences, ensuring dependency as theorganism shows it's continued inability to survive itself.So what then are adults with mother complex's dependent on?A human woman could be implemented to pick up the pieces, drive you home when your drunk ( acting irresponsible ). Although why would a woman or partner ever agree to such a position you would wonder?. An institution, the government, your church?, the company. an older sibling. A remaining parent. The counter here is that the party that is being depended upon must be getting some survival kick from the deal, and in effect to remove the complex one the problem would need to be tackled from both ends, that of the dependent, and that of the carer.
